Follow along with Dru and I as we cruise through an abandoned building during our portrait session!
I’ve wanted to go back to the Methodist Church in Gary for a while now. I was there once and felt like I didn’t get everything I wanted out of it. Alas, I had to be patient. We only had one hour to really complete the mission of getting amazing bridal portraits. On shoots like this I typically only use one light but I brought the rest of my speed-lights.
Having Dru in that wedding dress was stunning. Both her and I couldn’t believe that it fit this well without it getting fitted.
This photo and the others like it were the reason I wanted to go back. There were a ton of epic photos I wanted to get and I knew that this location would be able to give it to us.
The church didn’t disappoint! We were shooting some really EPIC imagery using only one strobe and a single speed-light for a back light. I put a pink gel on the speed-light behind Dru to separate her from the background.
Finally, we ended the session with natural light from this nook in the window. The roof has fallen through and the softest of light was pouring on Dru like a blanket.
